BPI Easy Saver Savings Account

How To Apply For A BPI Easy Saver Savings Account

When Easy Saver Saving's Account is not yet available, the normal price for you to open an account with BPI is 500 and you'll have a maintaining balance of 3000 pesos. If you do not have 3000 pesos in your account within 30 days, you will lose part of your money like 200 pesos or so.

How much does it cost to open a BPI Easy Saver Saving's Account?

In total it costs 250 pesos.
200 for the initial deposit and 50 pesos for your ATM card.
It functions the same way as the original account savings that they have.

What's the difference between a BPI Easy Saver Saving's Account and a non Easy Saver Saving's account?

Well to sum up their differences, with Easy Saver Savings account, there's always a 5 pesos fee when you withdraw from ATM and 100 pesos charge if you withdraw your money over the counter.

That's it!

BPI Easy Saver Savings Account Review

In comparison with the original savings account that you can apply for with BPI, Easy Saver Saving's account is really convenient especially for those who only need to open account for receiving remittance from their online income. There's a 5 pesos fee each time you withdraw on their ATM and 12 to 15 pesos on other ATM banks. So in comparison with BPI savings account with a 3000 pesos maintaining balance, Easy Saver is not really for those who are investing a lot of their money in that account but just for those starting out to receive payments online.

Can we link BPI Easy Saver Savings Account with our Paypal Account?

Yes.

How much is the remittance fee for transferring money from Paypal to our bank account?

So far I've only tried this on BPI and on RCBC My Wallet Visa Card.

It costs 50 pesos if you withdraw money below 7000 pesos from your Paypal Account to your Bank Account.

Then your bank will charge you 200 pesos from the amount you sent from Paypal as payment for the remittance.

So in total, you'd be paying 250 pesos if you send money from Paypal to your bank account.

Is it cheaper than RCBC My Wallet VISA Card?

Okay, we're getting a little bit off-topic here but what the heck.

Compared to sending money from Paypal to RCBC Wy Wallet? It's practically the same.

Because RCBC won't charge you any remittance when you send money to it from your Paypal account BUT Paypal will charge you 250 pesos instead of 50 pesos whether you're withdrawing more than 7000 pesos or not.

Also, for an added reference

I'm writing this article from my personal experience so just an added reference for those who are looking for a working BPI bank code that they can link to their Paypal account, let me just share you the one I used.

I used 010040018. I got this from http://www.pinoymoneytalk.com and made a leap of faith on trusting them because of other rumors with bank codes not working. Fortunately, it works.

Well there you go. I hope this can help those of you who are new with this banking. And by the way, you can check your account status online if you enroll with BPI which makes it really cool!

For any questions or comments, please feel free to post here on the comment section below and I'd be delighted to get back to you or help you in anyway that I can.

Cheers people!

    1. No, not really.
If you're using RCBC myWallet, the option that will be available for you in paypal is Withdraw using credit card.
RCBC myWallet VISA card is not associated with any bank account with RCBC. Hope this helps! Cheers!

    1. Sorry for the very late reply.
It's a non maintaining balance card.
As long as you're using bpi easy saver card, you don't have to worry about cashing it all out.
Mine only got 43 pesos right now and I don't have to worry about my account on it being closed ha ha!
      Cheers!

  3. i read that you could also use bpi easy saver atm card as debit card. is it possible to verify my paypal account with this debit card? and also, would you know of any hidden charges, like monthly fees, withdrawal fees, etcetera? i want to open one to link to my paypal for freelancing jobs but i'm nervous about the hidden charges and am having trouble with verifying my paypal so i want to open a bank account with a debit card that's able to do that. i'm deciding between eastwest basic savings account, BPI easy saver, BPI Direct Savings (the one with the 500 maintaining bal) and BPI express savings. would be great to have some advice from you! Thank you so much!

  4. Hi Unknown!

Well yes, BPI easy saver ATM card works as a debit card actually.

Here's a link to my post about the distinction between a Credit and Debit card:

    http://bit.ly/1i07o9e

Is it possible to verify your Paypal using BPI easy savers card? No.

You can check the rest of the details on my blog post: BPI Easy Savers Verify Paypal Account.

Are there hidden charges? No, not really.

The charges you'd only be paying are the 5 pesos each time you withdraw on your BPI easy savers ATM and the 50 pesos charge from Paypal if you're only using BPI. For complete details of the rates and charges please visit my post in this link:

    http://bit.ly/19bzNXk

If you're going to work as a freelancer online like me, I suggest that you verify your Paypal account using RCBC My Wallet VISA CARD. The card only costs 150 and you only need an initial deposit of 100 pesos to verify your Paypal account successfully. Here's a link to another blog post of mine as a guide for Paypal verification using RCBC in case you're interested:

    http://bit.ly/ITQquc

As for your bank, I suggest that you also choose BPI. It's better if you start with Easy Savers account as well when you're starting out. There's 5 pesos charge every time you're gonna withdraw but there's no maintaining balance and you can open another BPI direct account again when you have more money from your online jobs.

My advice is only use your RCBC card to verify your Paypal account but when you're about to withdraw money, use your BPI account because it only takes 2-4 business days. It can be frustrating to wait very long for your money if you withdraw it on your RCBC card.

    Feel free to ask anything.

Hope this all helps and please leave a comment if it did.

    Cheers!

  6. Can we link BPI Easy Saver Savings Account with our Paypal Account?Yes.
and how can you link it po if my easy saver doesn't have cvv at the back of my card??

Is it possible to verify your Paypal using BPI easy savers card? No.

how much is the initial deposit po in linking my account?sa union card you need 200 pesos in verifying your account, but since you can't verify your your paypal using your easy saver how can you link it po?sounds confusing.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ah I understand the confusion. I guess that's my mistake not to anticipate this. It's because I used the term "link" when it has two purposes in this blog post.

RCBC My Wallet Visa - is used for Verifying your Paypal account.

When your Paypal account is verified, your RCBC card is automatically linked to your Paypal account, meaning you can transfer your Paypal funds to your RCBC MyWallet Visa Card. And it's made possible because RCBC card has the official Visa Logo.

Now, as BPI Easy Saver's card. Here's the difference.

First, unlike the Visa card, you cannot use to to verify your Paypal account because, like what you already mentioned in your post, it doesn't have that cvv or the 3 digit code.

Second, it has the Cirrus logo and not Visa.

Now to the linking part, you cannot directly link your BPI card to your Paypal account.

      Here's what's happening.

When my Paypal is finally verified using the RCBC card, I opened a bank account with BPI. Then I linked my bank account to my Paypal with all the necessary bank details. (Be mindful of the Bank Code by the way).

Now what is linked to my Paypal account is not the BPI card itself but my bank account. The BPI Easy Savers Card is just an extension of my bank account, a simple ATM that we can use to withdraw the money we have from our bank account instead of going over the counter in the bank.

There you go, I hope you understood everything. Sorry if it lots of terms are repetitious but I really want to reiterate them clearly so I didn't use any shortcuts.

If there's still anything you want to know, feel free to ask.

And I'd really appreciate it if you comment here about this answer.

      Cheers!

  10. Hi Cristina,

I'm sorry but I'm not very familiar with sending money to a BPI account from abroad.

They do have that option but I didn't ask anything about it.

If she's from abroad, you can choose using Western Union and similar branches or Xoom.

Taga quezon city ako at gusto ko talaga mag open ng easy savers ng BPI.. but the matter is I only have my TIN ID and POSTAL Id for my requirements, and kahit saang branch ako ng BPI pumunta hindi daw valid yung mga requirements ko.. They ask to have 2 ID in this option. Passport, drivers lisence, SSS, GSIS, OWWA.. Wala ako ni isa sa mga yan.. paano kaya ako mkakaOpen kung ganyan po?
I Hope someone can help me out regarding with my problem..

    1. I see. They really require 2 Valid IDs. The only reason why I was able to get one even without 2 valid IDs is because I'm still a student and I only need to present my ID and Registration Form. If you're still a student, you can do the same. If not, you'd really have to get two valid IDs. Postal ID and SSS ID works and easier to get that any other IDs. Hope this helps

    2. Hi Jiridi, I'm a student too and I don't have any Valid ID yet, I only have school ID and registration card. They still allow me to use that even I'm already 19years old?

    3. You mean to ask if they're still going to allow you to apply for this type of card? The answer is yes. If you're still a student, then what you need is your ID and registration form. Have them photo copied, your ID and reg form. They should allow you to use that instead. ;)

What happened is I waited for a few days and didn't hear anything from them. Then I called their number and that's the only time a support agent helped me and explained to me that we really have to call RCBC if were ready to connect to our Paypal account.

    1. Nope. Hindi siya nag-eexpire. The one that gets expired is the one where you need to have a minimum balance every month. But as for the Easy Saver Savings Account, no. The card may expire but the account is still there which you can always renew when you bring your card to them and show them that you really have an account.

    1. Hi, super late reply, sorry. Still, for the benefit of others. You can't link them all together. You can't transfer funds between two different banks. It's simply not allowed. Probably if you're a very important person, you know what I mean. You can link your paypal to RCBC or BPI. But not RCBC to BPI vice versa. :

You should be able to whether you change the currency or not. IF, there's a BPI bank available there.

      YES!!! :)

-Can I withdraw money(SAR) that I deposit through my bpi easy saver here in Saudi? diff. Bank Company because there's no bpi here in dammam.

No BPI? If you mean to say you have your BPI card with you and you're going to use it to withdraw money to an ATM of a different Saudi Bank there, I don't really know. My assumption is that yes, then the funds you withdraw will automatically be converted. Just like what is happening to me whenever I'm withdrawing USD here in our ATMs in the Phipillines, they're being converted automatically. So there, hope it helps.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hi bleu!

In my understanding, hindi po sila pareho.

I've used Easy Saver's Account and it's as if that card becomes your bank. You can even check your account online as well as your transactions and you get to keep your actual physical card.

As for the Express teller account (that comes with an ATM) it's more on remittance only. You can load that account from here in the Philippines and the one abroad can withdraw that money and vice versa.

So what's the difference between the two if kung mag kaka pagsend ka din naman pala ng pera?

EASY SAVER'S ACCOUNT - good for linking to your paypal account.

EXPRESS TELLER ACCOUNT - good for remittance, no paypal transactions.

    Hope this helps. ;)

  32. Hi Patricia!

Nope, I don't think it will affect your withdrawal at all.

That's correct, we can't use BPI Easy savers card to verify our Paypal account.

But it's okay to add it and withdraw funds to your BPI Easy savers card.

    I'm doing this too.

I used my RCBC to verify my Paypal account, then added my BPI card later.

So now, I can withdraw from both of them, whatever I choose.

    Hope this helps!

    1. wut???

I got confused, you said may 1100 pesos syang laman but you also said wala kang maintaining balance? ha ha

Anyway, until you reply back here this is my theory.

That the exact amount in your BPI cars is actually 1100 pesos. Okay? The problem is if you withdraw exactly 1100, it will deny the transaction because there's a five (5) pesos fee each time you make a withdrawal. You probably missed this in my previous article.

So, in effect, if this really is the case, you can't withdraw 1100. You obviously can't withdraw any amount less than 100 pesos so you can just withdraw 1000 pesos for now.

      Hope this helps.

It's simple, you can just go to any bpi branch and ask for a BPI Easy Saver's account, its gonna cost you 250 Pesos. Just bring the usual requirements, 2 valid government IDs and such. No maintaining balance but note that there's 5 pesos fee each time you withdraw. It's like a different kind of account so they'll allow you to open one.

Hope this helps. Anymore questions, feel free to ask. ;)
